It ensures that businesses like ours can continue to provide reliable service despite changing fuel costs. This surcharge reflects the increases or decreases in fuel prices and is a common practice in industries such as transportation, shipping, and logistics.

Why Do We Have a Fuel Surcharge?

Fuel prices are one of the most volatile operating costs in our industry. By incorporating a fuel surcharge:

  • Fair Pricing: We ensure that our base rates remain consistent while addressing fuel cost variations separately.

  • Service Continuity: It allows us to maintain the quality of our services without compromising due to unexpected spikes in fuel prices.

  • Transparency: By adjusting the surcharge based on real-world fuel prices, we provide an honest and straightforward pricing structure.

How We Calculate the Fuel Surcharge

To keep the surcharge fair and reflective of actual fuel costs:

  1. Bi-Monthly Adjustments: We calculate the fuel surcharge on the 1st and 15th of each month.

  2. Fuel Price Data: This calculation is based on the average fuel prices during the previous period, ensuring accuracy and relevance. We use local prices from gasbuddy.com.

  3. Dynamic Updates: If fuel prices rise, the surcharge will increase; if they fall, the surcharge will decrease, aligning our fees with current market conditions.

By evaluating the surcharge regularly, we ensure it remains equitable and proportional to the actual impact of fuel costs.
